If I cannot attend all the dates of the workshop, is there an option to participate for a single day or more?

Yes! Auditing the workshop is an option available for those who cannot attend the 6-days! Pick and choose what dates work for you. All attendees will participate in lectures and discussions. We value the diverse identities and experiences of participants as everyone contributes their own unique perspective: everyone’s experience is enhanced and enriched through a more diverse group of participants. 

There are no audition requirements for auditors.

The day rate for auditors is $100/day.

Is this workshop open to all instruments?

At this time, we are only accepting applications for woodwinds, brass, and strings.

Is transportation provided?

Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation at this time. Students will need to be dropped off and picked up from our location throughout the week of the workshop. Because our location is close to downtown Austin, we encourage you to explore the surrounding area while you wait!

Is lunch provided?

We are seeking vendors who will supply us with enough meals to feed our students and staff/faculty. For now, students will need to pack their lunch and bring it in a lunchbox or brown paper bag. Use of on-demand food delivery services is not permitted (DoorDash, UberEats, Postmates, and Grubhub).

Can students double-up in classes?

No. The workshop’s schedule is designed in such a way that students will experience each course offering equally.

Are the performances free for the public to attend?

Yes, with the exception of the faculty performance, which will be a ticketed event.

Will audio and video recordings be made available?

Yes, however, it cannot be used for public distribution other than archival purposes. This is due to copyright, licensing, and permission restrictions imposed by the music publishers of the 20th and 21st century music programmed. Content may be shared on a case-by-case basis.
